New Dormitory: Beds for All

Category:

Umoja Children’s Home is a key orphanage in rural Kenya, Africa. We provide shelter to more than 70 boys and girls, but have only small dormitory spaces. Our beds are currently overflowing with sometimes three children to a mattress. We are building a new dormitory building to improve the living conditions of our children with new spaces to meet the demand for up to 100 children.

Your contribution, no matter how small, is of great help in completing the construction of this building where the children will dream of a better future.

The need for additional sleeping space at Umoja Children’s Home is urgent. Many of our children currently share a single bunk bed with up to six others, affecting their comfort and well-being. Our New Dormitory project is at a critical stage and is halfway to completion but our funds are very challenged.

The new building will have beds for up to 100 children, helping us care for more vulnerable kids in the county. Each child will have a safe and comfortable space to sleep and store their belongings, giving them a sense of dignity and belonging. The dormitory will also include rooms for volunteers, storage, and areas for studying and recreation. This will reduce overcrowding and greatly improve living conditions.

By donating, you directly improve the lives of our children and those we will care for in the future.

Our building progress depends on donations. Limited funding is slowing us down. The sooner we receive support, the faster we can give our children a better home!
